Do you know someone who would make a great leader or is it you who could inspire and change lives? There's always room for new leaders. Join the big adventure and start your Scouting journey with us!
Beaver Scouts is the first and youngest section in the Scout Movement for 6 to 8 year olds. As a Beaver, your child will join their Colony in exploring the outdoors, delving into creative crafts, discovering their community, playing games and making friends. After a few weeks of attending Beaver Scouts, your child will be ‘invested’. This is when they promise to do their best and help others. Find the various versions of the Beaver Scout Promise on page 8. Scouting opens the eyes of young people to a world of extraordinary possibilities.
Earn badges, get active and embrace the challenge! We believe that young people learn by doing, so our Beaver Scout Programme is bursting at the seams with a magnificent variety of activities, which engage and challenge young people of all abilities. You can expect your child to get involved in; sleepovers, water activities, nature walks, cooking, crafts, sports and many more…
The costs of Scouting will vary depending on your Group. Ask your Leader about costs and if needed, any support available.
The Beaver Scout Promise helps Beavers to understand and remember the values of Scouting. Every young person and Leader makes their Promise as part of being invested into Scouting. Speak to your Leader to find out more about investiture. Help your child to choose the Promise that is right for them.

Beaver Scouts take part in activities and learn new skills under the supervision of adult volunteers. They work effectively and safely with young people to deliver the Scout Programme and have access to training to support them in their role. If you have any questions, get in touch with your local Leader to put your mind at ease.
Scouting is more than just having fun: Beaver Scouts learn skills that are essential to their personal development and reaching their full potential. As well as developing a range of practical skills, your child will have the chance to develop skills such as; teamwork, problem solving, communication and responsibility.
